In the private hospital of Delhi,they are doing a new type of treatment for covid-19 patients called as "PLASMA THERAPY".
They are claiming that with this treatment health of patients improved. For the treatment of covid-19 in INDIA, ICMR and DCGT gave permission for the trials of "PLASMA THERAPY". Hospital claims that covid-19 patients doesn't need ventilators. They already started working on PLASMA
THERAPY since April 14.

First patient of PLASMA THERAPY, age 49 years of old. He was admitted to Hospital after some fever and breathing problem. His health gradually started deteriorated and then had to put oxygen. After that, he got pneumonia and by April 8, patient had to given ventilators support. After this huge health problems, doctors asked to their family forPlasma Therapy.
The family found a doner for PLASMA THERAPY itself. After this,on April 14 doctors started giving patient a new kind of treatment. The patient has not been on ventilators support since April 18 and currently he reported good and healthy but still he is in isolation and in observation of doctors.

The PLASMA THERAPY based on a perception that, those patients who recovered from this infection, their body developed a kind of Resistance Antibodies to neutralize the infection with the help of this resisting antibody, the virus present in bodies can be eliminated through PLASMA THERAPY.
Not everyone can become doner for this unless those patients who recovered from covid-19.
According to provided guidelines " Resistant antibodies of recovered patients can be taken in use only two weeks after their recovery and also the recovered patient should be tested twice not once for the covid-19. The recovered patient had to test with ELISA. And from this test we can find out the quantity of anti bodies but before taking blood from the body of a cured patient, it should also checked for it's purity under National Standards.
According to the medical director of Max Hospital Dr. Sandeep said " a doner can become one who doesn't have any other dieses. The only who passed the two weeks since covid-19 recovered and also not taking any other kind of medicine, their blood is tasted for Hepatitis B,C and HIV. The Corona is examined again. After all the negative results of given test, the vens is going to be examined. The reason for testing of vens of donar is because if the vens are too thin then PLASMA THERAPY can't be performed.
It takes atleast 7-8 hours for the initial checking of the donars. After this, PLASMA is extracted through DONAR's blood. Dr Sandeep said " it'll take around 2 hours to extract those plasma from donar's blood. Donar can go home on same day and there is no side effects of this process. The patient on whom this PLASMA THERAPY perform, their family found donar themself.

To treat covid-19 patients with PLASMA THERAPY, both ICMR and DCGI have to be approved. Kerala was the first to seek it's approval. More than 30 hospitals of different different states of the country asked for the permission of this treatment.
After the permission of this therapy, clinical trials started, now Donars would need for this. According to the data of Indian government approx 3000+ covid-19 patients were recovered from this. And those who recovered 3 weeks ago, can become the donar but they are not coming forward. That's the big problem happening right now. After some conversation of BBC NEWS with Dr. Sarin, he told that due to no donar we can't even starts the trials. Those who recovered from covid-19, their phone numbers are not available and some clearly saying not interested to become a donar after their serious health issues because of covid-19, some are excusing of health, family, lockdown and many more.

Recoved patients blood is extracted with the help of ASPARASIS TECHNOLOGIES by which plasma removed from blood and remaining blood is again put back into the body of same person.
According to Sandeep-" anti bodies only present in plasma, all aprox 400 millilitre plasma taken out from a donar's blood of this, approx about 200 milimeater of bodies blood is required to given to the patient, means extracting one can recover two patients. Dr. Sandeep also use for patient.
